Description:
Railway from Barcelona to Portbou - Bridge of iron on the Congost river, in his step for Montmeló.
In year 1858 the line of Barcelona to France, with double way until Montmeló, going through Granollers, Sant Celoni, Girona and Figueres was constructed. From Montmeló, the train climbed towards Granollers in only way and to pass the Congost river a bridge of six arcades and five pillars, of the one that has been made this exact reproduction in sizes and colors, were constructed.
Was the year 1952, when the double way was constructed from Montmeló to Granollers and logic the enlargement of ways needed the construction of a second bridge and the enlargement of the pillars.
The split coincided with the inauguration of the new Station of Granollers Centre and with the elimination the pass of the railway for the Girona street.
This reproduction intends to be a scale model-remembrance of the bridge that has contributed to the development of our region and that in few years will be demolished for giving way to train faster and modern, like the High-Speed Train..
The scale model consists of eighteen modules more two of return in each end, twenty-two, of a meter of length and one and half of width, in total. With height of a meter and twenty centimeters of each module, the vision sectionned from all the underground floors, since the station represents floor (-1), is simulated. Under the station we find four basements more: the internodal one to go of a roadside in another (-2), the service areas, buses and parking lot for cars (-3), the lines of railways of proximity (-4) and the lines of metre|metro (-5).

For the extreme south and under the Bridge of Calatrava, the way of entry coming from Tarragona-Lleida branches becoming ten ways, that with the five wide roadsides represent the one that the Station of La Sagrera will be. The two external ways are in passing direct towards the north and towards the south, everything decorated with more than three a hundred figures, semaphores, banks, watches, mechanical stairs and the station of services and maintenance of trains.
From the beginning, the project contemplated that the protection and the contemplation of the beach of ways and of the trains that had to circulate, it made through a fine plaque of metraquilat from one lateral or at the same level of this floor.
The dimensions and magnitude of the scale model had to make to take seriously many aspects, but one very important was that of the catenary, the masts and the girder of station, elements that had to live together with harmony with all the rest so that they did not interfere, not even hindered nor bothered the vision of the trains out of which was the viewing angle.
From here, the Train Grouping of Barcelona was put in touch to Tecnotren for searching the solution. Tecnotren found her: The masts are those that Tecnotren orders for the stations and regular linear of tunnel and the surface with bracket of high speed, duly paintings with the colors of the business agent of train infrastructures (GIF).
The girder installed without any modification above of the blocks that appear to be the pillars of concrete of the station, and the coincidence intending that Tecnotren found himself immersed in the study of a new catenary, tests and essays were made. It was decided that the new catenary was the most suitable for the scale model. A catenary with brassiere thread and downpipes of 0,4 mm of diameter and two parallel threads of contact of 0,5 mm of diameter, of an alloy of coure-inox, salary for micropoints and of a piece alone, of easy assembly, light, and with the functionality and the accounting that has always characterized the Tecnotren catenary.
Summary, the scale model-reproduction of the Station of La Sagrera for the High-Speed Train, has to be an icon of the railway stations at scale HO and therefore she has needed and needs the best material to be technological like the referent that she has to be so in the reality as a scale.
