The overhead power cable, also called catenaries, is the whole of elements that allowedthe good transmission of the electricity to make the trains function.The voltage that the overhead power cable can support in conventionaltrain lines is of10.000 volts.
The voltage that the overhead power cable can support in high-speed train lines is of 25.000 volts.

•  Contact cable/wire:

That's the piece that physically brings the electricity. The contact wire transmits the electricity to the train pantograph and from this to the transformers to finish, at the end, to the motors.

• Hanging pendulous:

That's the element that maintain the contact wire flat respect to the railway, the position remains parallel in order to avoid possible oscillations on the pantograph.

•  Hanging Cable:

It is a twisted cable that hangs the pendulous and those at the same time the contact wire.
